About me:
I live in Ontario, Canada.
My names Mr. Distance (Joey outside of music) and I've been playing guitar and singing for about 10 years now as well as doing composition, and beat making for about 13. My father has been a lifelong musical inspiration and I consider him to be the best guitarist i've ever heard, as well as the person who helped shaped my musical tastes. From a young age I listened to: Black Sabbath, Ozzy Osbourne, Nirvana, Tom Petty, Marilyn Manson and many more. Now I'm 25 and have been pursuing a career in music more seriously since September 2023 when I got the inspiration to write my first album: "Moon Powered". It's an incredibly disjointed and at times hacky album but I love it dearly all the same. The inspiration came directly from quitting cannabis (Something that had plagued me for years) and the enormous rush of energy this cessation gave me. I'm currently about halfway through recording the vocals for my second album entitled "Strange Enough For Me" (Working title was Skull Buggery LOL) and truly can't wait for it to be complete. The lyrics for this album were slaved over for countless hours, and the chord progressions + melodies got the same treatment.
